When I quit ARC (Abegweit Rainbow Collective, the gay and lesbian group on PEI - I just want to emphasize, strongly, that I did not have anything to do with designing the site that's there now!!), I had experimentally created a phpBB bulletin board for the ARC web site, which I had designed and was managing at the time, as a community service. Hardly anyone used it but there were a few and I didn't want to abandon the experiment just because I wasn't going to be involved with ARC any more. So I registered www.QueerIsland.org and re-created the bulletin board.
A few people used it for a while and I think got something from it, but there interest just hasn't been sustained and it's been dead for a while. Spammers have been hammering it heavily to try and find a weakness and post spam there, and recently they got in and spammed the hell out of the board.
To de-spam it I had to gut the board statistics so all the forums look like they're empty from the outside even though the original posts are still there. I'll see if I can figure out how to regenerate the state information later.
So, I took the site down for now and I'm pointing people who go there to this article. Email me through the contact link on this site or by clicking my name on this article if you have any interest in QueerIsland, at some point I need to decide what to do with it.
